Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

Section 235 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 will be repealed, because it already repealed an older law and is now finished with.

Clause 8 of Schedule 4 to the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 will be repealed, because it was only a temporary transitional rule from 2012 and isn’t needed anymore.

An old definition will be removed from the Docklands Act 1991, because the same definition already exists in another Act and this copy is redundant.

Section 9 and Schedule 2 of the Filming Approval Act 2014 will be repealed, because they were one-off amendments that took effect years ago.

Division 2 of Part 18 of the Greenhouse Gas Geological Sequestration Act 2008 will be repealed, because it contained self-amending provisions that have already taken effect.

Section 3(5) of the Marine (Drug, Alcohol and Pollution Control) Act 1988 will be repealed, because it refers to parts of the Act that were already deleted years ago.

An unnecessary heading in Schedule 5 of the Marine (Drug, Alcohol and Pollution Control) Act 1988 will be removed, because the clauses it referred to are no longer needed.

Clauses 44A to 44D in Schedule 5 of the Marine (Drug, Alcohol and Pollution Control) Act 1988 will be repealed, because the same regulation-making powers now exist in a newer law.

Sections 95B and 95C of the Road Safety Act 1986 will be repealed, because they were temporary rules that have expired.

Part 8 of the Yarra River Protection (Wilip-gin Birrarung murron) Act 2017 will be repealed, because it was an amendment to another Act that has already taken effect.
