Assets and responsibility for existing transport infrastructure projects will be assigned to the head of Transport for Victoria (TfV is a sub-department of the new Department of Transport; TfV includes VicRoads and PTV).

A newly created Secretary for Project Development is now a corporate body legally declared to be part of whatever department the Governor in Council says it is part of; This means that when Project Development gets shuffled to a new department in future, the laws will not have to be changed to reflect this.

The ’Secretary for DIIRD’ (Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development) will now be dissolved as its functions have, in this bill, been shared out between ’Transport for Victoria’ and the new corporation ’Secretary for Project Development’
