Effects of Bill:
This bill being passed means that:
Perpetrators arrested while already on bail for previous offences will be denied bail;
Arrested persons can be denied bail by police for up to 48 hours, pending bail hearing by a court, unless they are a child, Aboriginal or Vulnerable Adult or arrested for infringements.
