Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

Events can be declared by the Minister for Tourism and Major Events as Major Events, which means that ticket resale prices are capped at 10% more than the original sale price of the tickets. Authorised Ticketing Officers will be employed (similar to transport PSOs) to police ticket re-sale and prosecution of scalpers. Tourism Victoria will be disbanded as it is redundant and has been replaced by Visit Victoria instead.
