Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

Paintball Markers must now be stored under the same conditions as Cat A guns;

Possession of parts for paintball markers will carry jail terms unless you have a gun manufacturing licence.

Firearms Prohibition Orders can be issued by the police against individuals with no criminal record on the basis of behaviour, who the person associates with, or threat derived from other information known to the Chief Commissioner.

An FPO gives police search and seize powers and prevents the person from possessing or acquiring firearms, parts, ammunition or silencers or imitation firearms (or else 10 years jail).

FPOs last 10 years for adults or 5 years for minors.

Drive-by shootings now carry a 10 year jail term for "recklessly shooting with disregard for the safety of any person" or discharging weapons in a public place, or carrying loaded weapons.

Trafficable quantities are now defined as "more than 3" firearms.
