Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

Body Corporate rules apply to short-stay renters;

If short-stay tenants violate body corporate rules, the owner/manager of the property can be fined;

If the owner/manager keeps renting it out and incidents keep happening, the body corporate can apply to VCAT to have the owner/manager pay $2k to all other affected owners in the body corporate and be banned from further short-stay renting of the property
