Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

Teachers need to inform Justice Department of other organisations they volunteer with (just like WWC card holders do).

CAE can now merge into Box Hill TAFE (they are already run by the same people);

VRQA - the childcare/school quality regulator - can now take and investigate complaints about compliance of organisations;

The minister for education can now sack a Vic Institute of Teaching council member;

University councils can now have their councilors terms finish during the academic year instead of 31 December, facilitating easier managing of elections etc
