Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

Terminally ill Victorian adults with an incurable degenerative condition are now able to request assistance to commit suicide via lethal drugs under very strict conditions.

Three separate requests are required to be made by the patient before euthanasia can be organised

NB The word Euthanasia is not mentioned in the bill even once.

Disability and Mental illness are excluded as legal grounds for euthanasia under this bill.

A provider may not initiate discussion about euthanasia ever, it must be started by the patient
