This bill being passed means that:
it will become a crime to share pictures or videos of someone that are meant to embarrass, shame, or invade their privacy, if the person didn’t agree.
this includes things like secretly taken photos, edited or fake images (such as deepfakes), or videos of someone in a humiliating situation.
the penalty for doing this could be up to 2 years in jail.
courts will be able to order the pictures or videos to be deleted and stop them being shared again.
