Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

The Fair Work Commission can now place a registered organisation, or part of it, under independent administration if it is found to be mismanaging funds or failing in governance.

The bill doubles maximum fines for significant violations such as misuse of member funds. For example, breaches related to improper financial reporting now carry penalties of up to $220,000 for individuals.

Registered organisations must now submit detailed quarterly financial reports rather than annual ones, improving transparency. These reports must comply with new auditing standards
