The Greyhound Industry Reform Inspector (GIRI) will oversee the implementation of reforms within Greyhound Racing South Australia (GRSA). The inspector's role is to ensure that GRSA follows through on recommendations from the inquiry, particularly those relating to animal welfare and industry governance

The GIRI is required to provide regular reports to the South Australian Minister for Recreation, Sport, and Racing. These reports will document progress made by the greyhound racing industry in implementing the required reforms. The inspector is also tasked with producing a final report two years after their appointment, evaluating the success of the reform efforts

The inspector will monitor changes to ensure the industry's practices align with public expectations and that its social license to operate is maintained
