Effects of Bill:
This bill being passed means that:
*just a reminder that personal non-fleet-trial e-scooters are currently not legal to ride in South Aus
This bill introduces provision for regulations for riding e-scooters, e.g. you will have to wear a helmet, age restrictions, e-scooters have to ding a bell to warn pedestrians when attempting to pass them, etc. full regulations TBA and will change over time.
Like pushbikes, you won’t need to register your e-scooter and you won’t need a drivers license.
There will be rules about what eScooters are and aren’t legal, like size and weight
