This bill being passed means that:
Vending machine sales of e-cigarettes and nicotine products are banned in public areas and stricter age verification processes are enforced for legal purchases
Increased fines for illegal sales of e-cigarettes, particularly those targeted at minors. First-time offenses can result in fines of up to $1.5 million
new buffer zones around public spaces such as schools, childcare centers, and public transport areas where the use of vapes and smoking is prohibited.
NSW Health inspectors and authorized officers will be able to conduct surveillance operations aimed at identifying retailers selling e-cigarettes to minors.
