Effects of Bill:

This bill being passed means that:

Commercial childcare centres must not enrol children without a copy of a record showing each child has up to date immunisations;

In the event of an outbreak of a vaccine-preventable disease at a center, the Chief Public Health Officer must be provided with the details of each enrolled child (including immunisation status, contact details of parent).

Babysitting, private childminding co-ops and home tutoring are exempt from this law.
