Up to 3 Years Jail for producing and/or distributing deepfakes

deepfakes are defined as including audio that falsely depicts someone in a sexual context

under the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW), producing sexually explicit images or audio of real individuals without their consent, even if the content was generated entirely by AI, is now illegal
