Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Police officers cannot use a person as a human source unless that person is registered.
Police officers cannot contact children aged 14 or younger to ask them to become human sources.
Police officers cannot task human sources who are children aged 14 or younger.
Children under 18 must have a lawyer and a parent or guardian present during registration or tasking meetings.
Adults must give informed consent to be registered as human sources.
Children under 18 and their parents or guardians must both give informed consent for registration.
The Chief Commissioner cannot register a source to get privileged information unless there is a serious threat to national security or life.
