Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Victorian Minister can make approval in principle a requirement for service approvals.
People can apply for approval in principle for centre-based services in Part 4 buildings.
The Regulatory Authority must decide these applications within 60 days.
The Regulatory Authority must refuse service approvals if the provider lacks an approval in principle or ignored approved plans.
The Regulatory Authority cannot refuse a service approval if the provider holds an approval in principle and followed the plans.
Approval holders must report material changes to plans or the surrounding environment.
Approval holders can apply to amend, extend, or reinstate their approval.
Applicants can seek internal and external reviews of refusal or cancellation decisions.
