If this bill passes, it means that:

Disability service providers must not use compulsory treatment without an approved Authorised Program Officer.
Registered NDIS providers must not detain people with intellectual disabilities unless the law allows it.
Providers face fines for using restrictive practices without an approved Authorised Program Officer.
Providers face fines for using regulated restrictive practices outside of specified legal circumstances.
Disability service providers can enter a resident's room without notice if they suspect a breach of a residency order.
Providers face fines for failing to record community visitor visits to approved premises.
Providers must notify the Community Visitors Board within 72 hours of a resident's request for a visit.
