Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Council members must tell the Minister if they become insolvent.
Council members must tell the Minister if they are charged with or convicted of a serious crime.
The Director of the Institute must tell the Council if they become insolvent or face serious criminal charges.
Failure to give these notices can lead to a fine of 100 penalty units.
The Minister can request a criminal history report for current or prospective Council members if the person consents in writing.
