Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

ART providers must get written consent before collecting a person's gametes.
Inspectors can now demand information and documents to check if ART providers are following the law.
The Queensland Health Chief Executive can share confidential health or criminal data with other government entities if it is in the public interest.
The Governor in Council can remove members and CEOs from health and pharmacy boards without needing a specific reason.
The Queensland Health Chief Executive can approve the use of gametes even if some information is missing.
The Queensland Health Chief Executive can let ART providers use donated material even if it exceeds the 10-family limit.
ART providers must now collect and keep records for gametes obtained before the Act started.
ART providers must keep their records even if they stop operating.
