Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Pharmacy business owners can seek external review from the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal for certain Council decisions.
The Pharmacy Business Ownership Council can share ownership data with Queensland Health.
Shareholders of corporate pharmacy owners cannot hold shares on trust unless the beneficiary is a pharmacist or a close adult relative.
The Pharmacy Business Ownership Council no longer has a 30-day limit to request more info or inspect premises during licence applications.
The Pharmacy Business Ownership Council must publish an online register of pharmacy business licences.
Licence applicants must provide the names of all trust beneficiaries.
Close adult relatives of pharmacists can only hold a material interest in a pharmacy if the pharmacist also holds an interest in that business.
Medical practitioners must notify the National Registry within 30 days of diagnosing certain occupational respiratory diseases.
