Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Minister or Treasurer can request information for the CopperString project.
People must provide this information or face a fine of 100 penalty units.
People who comply with these requests are protected from civil liability.
The law ends renewable energy targets and reporting requirements.
Queensland must keep 100% public ownership of operational generation assets.
Queensland must keep 100% public ownership of transmission, distribution and deep storage assets.
The Minister must consult with Powerlink and a qualified person before declaring a candidate PTI.
The hub design body can replace a hub management plan with a new one.
