Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Parole Board Queensland must review a board member's decision to suspend a parole order within 2 business days.
The Parole Board Queensland must either confirm the decision or set it aside and make a new decision.
Prisoners must be released if the Parole Board Queensland sets aside a decision to suspend their parole.
Prisoners are not considered to have been unlawfully at large while waiting for the Parole Board Queensland to review a suspension decision.
The law confirms that past decisions by the Parole Board Queensland regarding parole suspensions were valid and lawful.
