Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Riders of e-bikes and personal mobility devices must be at least 16 years old.
These riders must hold a valid driver licence to use roads or public places.
Police can seize and destroy non-compliant e-bikes or unregistered motorised vehicles.
Parents can be charged if a child under 16 rides these devices illegally.
Riders aged 16 and over face fines for riding over the alcohol limit.
Police can use breath testing devices on riders of e-bikes and personal mobility devices.
People who film or promote hooning with e-mobility devices face fines or jail.
It is now an offence to evade police while using an e-mobility device.
