Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Chief Executives cannot raise public transport fares by more than 50 cents without a motion in the Legislative Assembly.
The Legislative Assembly must receive 28 days' notice before voting on a fare increase.
Fuel retailers must report the next day's fuel price by 2pm.
Fuel retailers cannot raise prices once they have provided the next day's price notice.
Fuel retailers must provide a notice within 30 minutes of lowering a fuel price.
Fuel retailers cannot raise fuel prices by more than 5 cents per litre from the last price notice.
