If this bill passes, it means that:
The bill abolishes the Commissioner for Resources Safety and Health.
A new governing board takes over the Commissioner's functions for Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ).
The Governor in Council can remove RSHQ board members or executives on the Minister's recommendation.
The Chief Executive Officer of Coexistence Queensland now holds the role of Land Access Ombudsman (LAO).
The LAO can hire qualified contractors to handle investigations and dispute resolution.
The Minister must give mining tenement holders a written chance to explain unpaid rent before cancelling a tenement or imposing a penalty.
Mining safety advisory committees must now review the effectiveness of laws and standards.
