Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The government is creating Outdoor Recreation Victoria (ORV). This new agency will regulate and promote hunting, fishing, camping, boating, four-wheel driving and other outdoor activities on Victorian public land.
The government is closing the Game Management Authority.
All property, rights, debts, staff and officers from the Game Management Authority move to ORV.
The government is closing the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
All property, rights, debts, staff and officers from the Victorian Fisheries Authority move to ORV.
ORV will create a Land Access Panel. This panel will manage how the public can access private land for outdoor recreation.
The government is updating laws to replace the names of the closed agencies with ORV.
