Schools must create and use a policy that stops students from using personal electronic devices, including mobile phones, during school hours.
This policy starts on 28 January 2027.
The law now recognises Aboriginal people as First Nations people.
Education bodies must follow principles of Aboriginal self-determination across the education system.
