The Debate

What different members said when this bill was debated:

John Ruddick LIBT

“I am pleasantly surprised that there is no more interest in debate on the Uranium Mining and Nuclear Facilities (Prohibitions) Repeal Bill 2025. I can only put that down to the overwhelmingly compelling case for why we should have uranium mining in New South Wales. I was recently in Adelaide. Why did I go to Adelaide?”

Uranium Mining and Nuclear Facilities (Prohibitions) Repeal Bill 2025

The Hon. JOHN RUDDICK — 2025-11-19

It is important to note that my bill does not demand that the Government does anything other than lift the ban and get out of the way. I do not want the State Government to build or operate nuclear power plants. My bill does not suggest anything of the sort. This modest bill simply allows private operators to have the option to provide nuclear power if they believe it makes financial sense.
