Karen McKeown ALP
“I speak in strong support of the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment (Miscellaneous) Bill 2025. More than 1.2 million people live in over 87,000 strata schemes across New South Wales, making strata title a defining feature of modern housing. For many strata residents, their home is their most significant investment.”
Jenny Leong GRN
“On behalf of The Greens, I contribute to debate on the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment (Miscellaneous) Bill 2025. I acknowledge that the Minister and his hardworking team who worked on this reform are in the Chamber and the advisers area.”
Jihad Dib ALP
“I am pleased to support the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment (Miscellaneous) Bill 2025. I acknowledge the presence in the Chamber of the excellent Minister Chanthivong and I acknowledge his work on this legislation. We do a fair bit of work in this space. I also acknowledge the presence in the advisers area of the Minister’s staff members, who do a terrific job.”
Marjorie O'Neill ALP
“At the outset, I state my strong support for the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment (Miscellaneous) Bill 2025. I commend the Ministers and the commissioner for the work they have been doing in this space. I acknowledge this is the third tranche of legislation. Strata living in my electorate of Coogee, and throughout the eastern suburbs, is not the exception but the norm.”
Alex Greenwich IND
“I contribute to debate on the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment (Miscellaneous) Bill 2025. Strata schemes are the fastest growing form of housing in the State. We are rezoning land across the city that will transform our neighbourhoods into high-density regions where living in an apartment will become the norm, in the hope that it will improve housing affordability.”
Edmond Atalla ALP
“I contribute to debate on the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment (Miscellaneous) Bill 2025. New South Wales is home to more than 87,000 strata schemes that house over 1.2 million residents. As the Minns Labor Government continues to deliver more affordable and high-quality housing, that number will continue to grow.”
Julia Finn ALP
“I speak in strong support of the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment (Miscellaneous) Bill 2025. Across New South Wales, housing affordability and supply remain critical challenges. The Minns Labor Government has wasted no time addressing those challenges by delivering important reforms that make housing more accessible and better suited to modern life. Strata living is central to that vision.”
“I also thank the members representing the electorates of Gosford, Penrith, Newtown, Bankstown, Coogee, Sydney, Granville and Mount Druitt. More and more families are choosing strata living, whether in a two-lot duplex or a high-rise apartment tower. It is a cornerstone of our housing system and our housing future.”

These important additional reforms include: delivering on the Government’s commitment in the Consumer Energy Strategy to introduce a right for strata owners to install electric vehicle [EV] charging stations in strata schemes, reducing regulatory burden for two-lot strata schemes by introducing a simplified decision‑making process, improving consumer protections by stopping embedded network providers from inappropriately recouping infrastructure costs from owners’ corporations, increasing transparency by allowing NSW Fair Trading to require managing agents to use a standard form for disclosures at annual general meetings, and allowing compliance action taken by NSW Fair Trading against an owners’ corporation to be published so prospective buyers can know if there are any issues with repairs and maintenance in the building.
