Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment (Reform and Modernisation) Bill 2025

The bill incorporates and builds on amendments moved by the member for Sydney and the member for Barwon to the Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Bill and agreed to by others in this House. The bill includes repeated and serious contraventions of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 as a matter that must be considered in determining whether the work demands made of a worker are excessive. The bill also modifies the reasonable management action defence by providing that compensation for psychological injury will not be payable if the psychological injury was predominantly caused by reasonable management action.
