Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Minister must keep a register of water access licences held by the State and the Commonwealth.
The register must list the licence holder; the licence number; and the water source.
The register must detail the amount of water held for environmental purposes; any government-funded projects using the licence; and the monetary value of dealings.
The Minister must keep the register in electronic form.
The register must be available to the public on the Department's website.
