Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
A person commits an offence if they disclose information obtained while administering or executing the UM Act.
Fines for this disclosure reach a maximum of 100 penalty units.
The Secretary cannot register the transfer of an authority if a required payment is unpaid; this also applies if a caveat is registered.
Approval to transfer an authority lapses if the specified amount is not paid.
Authorised officers can issue penalty notices for prescribed offences.
