Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Victim rights agencies can share health information with the agency that manages the victims register.
This sharing must be necessary to notify a victim of crime or their family about the register.
The victims register agency does not have to notify a person if it cannot identify them after taking reasonable steps.
The agency can also skip notification if it has reasonable grounds to believe the person does not want to be notified.
