Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Gambling businesses must not provide services to people they suspect are using stolen money.
Gambling businesses must report the use of stolen money to the Commissioner of Police.
Fines for these offences reach up to $10 million.
Courts must order gambling businesses to compensate victims if stolen money was used for gambling services.
The Local Court can only impose fines up to $11,000 for these offences.
