Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Applicants cannot seek stop bullying orders if they have already started anti-discrimination proceedings for the same conduct.
People with sexual harassment orders can now also start proceedings under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 for the same conduct.
Civil penalty proceedings must be paused if criminal proceedings start for the same offence.
The Commission has defined powers over employees who have suffered a workplace injury.
Appeals from an Industrial Magistrate or other courts no longer have to be heard only by the Full Bench of the Commission.
