Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The State, local health districts and statutory health corporations cannot partner with private persons to build acute hospitals for public patients
This ban applies if the private person would have an interest or liability in the building; it also applies if the project uses private financing, ownership or control
Existing arrangements for acute hospitals remain valid; this includes any variations or options to extend those deals
The government can use regulations to exempt specific arrangements from this ban
