Game and Feral Animal Legislation Amendment (Conservation Hunting) Bill 2025

This bill will amend the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002 No 64 to recognise the significant environmental, social and economic impact of conservation hunting in the State. The bill will also amend the Crown Land Management Act 2016 to facilitate targeted conservation hunting on declared areas of Crown land, other than national park estate land, by persons holding a conservation hunting licence. It will also amend the Forestry Act 2012 to promote the use of State owned forestry areas for hunting and section 11 of the Weapons Prohibition Act 1998 to allow a conservation hunting licence to be a genuine reason for applying for a permit to have a sound moderator on a firearm.
