Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Trespassing on a major bridge or tunnel is only a crime if it causes substantial damage
The law no longer covers trespassing on general roads
Criminal offences for entering or blocking major facilities are abolished
Criminal offences for blocking or harassing people at places of worship are abolished
Police can no longer give directions to people protesting near places of worship
The penalty for obstructing a railway is set at 200 penalty units or 2 years in prison
Major bridges and tunnels are defined as those in the Sydney metropolitan area connected to highways, main roads, freeways or tollways
