Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Drivers commit an offence if they deliberately drive through floodwaters on a road.
The driver must be reckless about the risk of death or injury to themselves or others.
The maximum penalty is 5 penalty units.
All fines collected from this offence go into the New South Wales State Emergency Service Fund.
