The State Insurance and Care Governance Amendment (Governance Arrangements) Bill 2024 makes several important changes to the governance framework of Insurance and Care NSW (ICNSW), which oversees insurance and compensation schemes like workers\' compensation. The bill removes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from ICNSW’s board of directors, thus separating the management and governance roles more clearly. This change aims to enhance the board’s independence in decision-making. These changes are designed to improve the governance and operational oversight of ICNSW, ensuring it meets its objectives efficiently while maintaining transparency in its activities
