Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Shops must stay closed all day on Anzac Day
Banks can no longer get approval to open on Anzac Day
Exemptions apply to shops listed in the Retail Trading Act 2008
Shops must stay closed all day on Anzac Day; this ends the previous rule that only applied before 1pm.
Banks cannot get approval to open on Anzac Day.
The ban on trading on Anzac Day now lasts the entire day; it no longer ends at 1pm.
Shops listed in Schedule 1 of the Retail Trading Act 2008 are exempt from these closures.
