Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Ministers and parliamentary secretaries must give a summary of relevant meetings to the Secretary of the Cabinet Office every quarter.
The summary must be provided within one month after the quarter ends.
Reports must list the meeting purpose; the names of attendees; and whether attendees were lobbyists.
The Secretary of the Cabinet Office must publish these summaries on the Cabinet Office website.
Ministers do not have to report meetings about personal, electorate, or party political matters.
Reporting is not required for meetings held overseas; social functions; or meetings where public interest prevents disclosure.
