Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
People restricted from publishing or disclosing ICAC evidence can share that information with a registered doctor or psychologist; this applies if the practitioner is providing medical or psychiatric care.
The ICAC Inspector can force the Commission to explain why it will not follow a recommendation.
The ICAC Inspector can report the Commission's failures to Parliament if they are not satisfied with the Commission's action.
Inspectors for both ICAC and the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission are limited to a total of 10 years in office.
ICAC must publish its standard timeframes for preparing reports on its website.
ICAC must report its performance against these time standards in its annual report; it must give reasons for any delays.
