The bill amends the Crimes (High Risk Offenders) Act 2006 to enable high‑risk offenders who commit serious strangulation offences to be considered for post‑sentence detention and supervision under the Act. The bill also makes amendments to the Crimes (High Risk Offenders) Act 2006 and the Terrorism (High Risk) Offenders Act 2017 to improve the operation of these Acts.
