Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Unauthorised people must not enter or stay in timber harvesting safety zones; fines apply for those who do
Authorised officers can order unauthorised people to leave these zones; officers may physically remove people who refuse
Officers can ban people from re-entering a zone or entering other safety zones; breaking this ban can lead to 12 months in prison
Unauthorised people must not carry items used to obstruct timber harvesting in these zones
Obstructing or interfering with timber harvesting in a safety zone is a crime; it carries a maximum penalty of 12 months in prison
Inciting others to obstruct timber harvesting in these zones is a criminal offence
Unauthorised people must not damage or remove safety zone notices, fences, or barriers
