The Director of Public Prosecutions no longer needs to approve prosecutions for publicly threatening or inciting violence based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status or HIV/AIDS status.
This change applies to all such proceedings started on or after the law begins; it includes offences committed before the law changed.
