Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Contractors face fines of up to 20 penalty units for failing to keep records or provide information.
Registered workers can appeal to the Committee if the Corporation dismisses their objection.
Inspectors can issue notices requiring assistance to carry out their functions on premises.
Registered workers get no credit for service while their registration is suspended.
Registered employers must pay any outstanding long service leave levies to the Corporation when their registration is cancelled.
The Corporation must give registered employers access to and certified copies of their own register entries on request.
Foundation workers get 365 days of recognised service on the day they are registered.
