Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Drivers can avoid conviction for having THC in their oral fluid, blood or urine; they must prove the drug was obtained legally as medicine.
This defence does not apply to learner or provisional licence holders.
The defence also applies to people who had THC in their system before this law started.
The Minister must review this defence after three years.
The Minister must table a report in Parliament to decide if the rule is still appropriate.
