Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Registered clubs that offer wagering or betting cannot make political donations.
The ban also applies to club secretaries; members of the governing body; and their spouses.
These clubs and individuals are now classified as liquor or gambling industry business entities.
Registered clubs can still let candidates or parties use their premises for election purposes.
Providing this space is not considered a political donation.
